On 26 May 2026, the Slovenian Forestry Institute hosted its annual Open Day, an event aimed at bringing forests and forestry closer to younger generations. One of the workshops, entitled “Immersion in the Forest”, focused on helping children recognize the benefits of forests for human health and well-being.
During the workshop, children identified which forest benefits they considered most important, learned about the positive effects of forests on well-being and health, and briefly “immersed” themselves in the forest through a guided meditation among trees.
Through this activity, PHorestAll also reached a school-age audience and introduced children to the project’s focus on the relationship between forests and human well-being. At the same time, the workshop provided valuable insights into how children perceive the importance of forests and their role as places for relaxation, play, and well-being.
The activity showed that children recognize forests as important spaces for relaxation, exploration, and physical activity, highlighting the importance of incorporating such topics into educational and awareness-raising activities for younger generations.
