As part of the PHorestAll project, the University of Coimbra team recently carried out an autumn sampling campaign at Mata do Bussaco, the project's study site in Portugal.
The fieldwork included air sampling for biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs), collection of conifer needle and soil samples, and assessment of the forest's environmental and ecological characteristics. All activities followed the standardized PHorestAll sampling protocols used across the project's study sites.
The collected samples and environmental data will contribute to the characterization of the forest ecosystem and support the project's ongoing research into the relationships between forest environments, forest therapy, and human health.
