University of Maribor Faculty of Health Sciences

The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Maribor is a higher education and research institution dedicated to excellence in nursing and health sciences education, scientific research, and professional development. Its vision is to become a globally comparable, recognized, and attractive educational and research institution.

The Faculty integrates education, research, and clinical practice to provide high-quality study programmes that respond to contemporary healthcare challenges and societal needs. It educates highly qualified graduates with strong professional knowledge, critical and scientific thinking skills, ethical responsibility, and a patient-centred approach. Particular emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, teamwork, and international cooperation.

Academic and research activities are organised through several specialised chairs covering nursing care, bioinformatics, medicine and health, interdisciplinary sciences, and midwifery.

The Faculty operates several institutes, including the Institute for Nursing Care, the Research Institute, the Institute for Balneology and Climatology, and the Institute for Health and Nutrition. In addition, the Faculty includes the Center for Information and Communication Technologies and E-Learning, the Center for Simulated Clinical Environment, and the Center for Quality and Development of Study Programmes.

Through its educational and research activities, the Faculty actively contributes to the advancement of healthcare practice, evidence-based approaches, and international scientific cooperation in the field of health sciences.
